PATRICK BLANC, Paris, France: Botanist, Author, Environmental Designer of 'The Vertical Garden'.
The Inventor of the Green Wall (Vertical Garden) for the built form, Patrick is without question, the worlds' leading authority in this field. A botanist who began his career in 1988 and has continued to design his "Vertical Gardens' for projects across the planet. Read more
DUSTY GEDGE, London, UK: President European Federation of Green Roof Associations, Author, Green Roof Designer.
Dusty has designed and project managed over 300 green roofs in the U.K.; he formed a consultancy team for the City of London, producing the 'Green Roof Code' and the 'Living Roofs & Walls Guideline'. He has received British Environmental Awards for 'Urban Biodiversity', a recognized international speaker on green roofs / biodiversity / ecosystem services, an author of seminal books and a U.K. television presenter. National keynote speakers:
Graham Jahn, Architect, was appointed Director City Planning for the City of Sydney in September, 2009.
"The City of Sydney has adopted the directions of 'Green, Global & Connected' as its strategic vision....a vision to increase vegetation & biodiversity ..... new guidelines for greening within new developments; promoting the use of green roofs & green walls; creating wildlife corridors & habitat pockets."
Chris Johnson is the former NSW Government Architect and former Executive Director of the NSW Department of Planning.
"To many, nature is the opposite of the built environment...... the city is seen as an integral part of the natural systems. ....green landscape as being part of the urban fabric. .....designs for buildings that fit within landscapes.....Green roofs are part of this rethink of the city as being integral to the earth's natural systems."
Hon Tom Roper is the President of ASBEC & a board member of the Climate Institute Washington, DC, a former Gov't Minister, he has devoted his career to social, political & environmental progressive change.
Warwick Savvas, Senior Associate, Aspect Studios, has been instrumental on the recent Victorian Desalination Project which has the largest greenroof in the Southern Hemisphere.

Graeme Hopkins, architect / landscape arch, Fifth Creek SA. Graeme has just released 'Green Architecture' with the CSIRO. Since receiving the Churchill he has continued to design, research & advocate a rethink on urban greening practice.
Graham Cleary, landscape architect, Urban Habitats NZ; presents on his largest commercial green roof/wall projects in NZ.
There will be a total of twenty professional speakers, refer to Speakers / Keynote Speakers for Bios & Abstracts.
The 'Greening Cities Conference' will present professional architectural practices with an opportunity to be informed on; significant international & national projects; latest research data; new technology for green infrastructure and to receive an accredited '101 green roof training' (the only training available in Australia, 1/2 day workshop).
The Workshop is approved for 4 FORMAL CPD points from the AIA. Places limlited.
